Youth Group Outreach at Reading Holiday Parade (November 2015)

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” – Jesus (Matthew 28:18)

Zion Mennonite Church is committed to serving as a witness to the love and truth of Jesus Christ in a broken world thus bringing healing and hope in Him. Our desire is to see the gospel of Jesus Christ take root in people’s lives across the street and around the world, from our immediate neighbors in Robeson Township, to the people in each of our circles of contact (work, neighborhood, school, community groups, etc.), to the people in each community represented in our church body, to the city of Reading, and wherever we may be called around the world. We are called to invite others to join us on this journey of faith with our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Working for God’s Kingdom has called many in our congregation around the nation and around the world. Many of our young adults have served with YES or STAT (part of Eastern Mennonite Missions.) and also with Youth With A Mission. These locations have included India, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Kenya, Germany, the West Bank, Texas, Hawaii, and Iceland. We also have supportive connections with several missionary couples in Africa and Asia, as well as a long-term missionary on a native reservation in South Dakota.

Zion has individuals who are active in local ministries including New Person Center (transitional housing), City Light Ministry, and local retirement communities. Zion is also supportive of local ministries such as the Reading Berks Conference of Churches and Mercy Community Crisis Pregnancy Center.

We encourage you to find your place of service in the Kingdom of God, at home or around the world.
